Court officers attend awareness program on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion

The PNG Centre for Judicial Excellence conducted the second provincial awareness program on Gender Equity and Social Inclusion on 29 July, 2023, at the Huon Gulf Hotel in Lae, Morobe Province.

A total of twenty (20) officers from the Lae National Courthouse including security officers and registry staff, had participated in this one-day program on the principles and values of gender equity and social inclusion in the work environment.

The main goal of the awareness was to highlight the importance of the National Public Service Gender Equity and Social Inclusion Policy and its relevance to promoting a respectful, equitable and inclusive work culture that is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.

Ms. Debbie Laudiwana, PNGCJE Research and Publications Manager and NJSS GESI focal point, took the participants through the development and implementation of the Gender Equity and Social Inclusion policy and the process of integrating GESI principles and values into service delivery.

The GESI awareness program was funded by the PNGCJE and coordinated by Program Officer for the National Judicial Staff Services, Mr. Peter Michael.
