Staff members of the International Training Institute (ITI) today benefited from an insightful and engaging lecture on Staff Professional Ethics, delivered by Hon. Justice John Carey, Judge Administrator Papua New Guinea Centre for Judicial Excellence (PNGCJE).
Addressing staff from across the institution, Justice Carey emphasized the importance of ethical conduct in public service and professional environments. He highlighted key principles including integrity, accountability, confidentiality, respect, impartiality, and responsibility, noting that ethical behaviour is essential for maintaining public trust and fostering a productive work culture.
During the lecture, Justice Carey encouraged participants to reflect on their professional responsibilities and the impact of their decisions on colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider community. He stressed that ethical challenges can arise in everyday work situations and that staff must be prepared to make sound and principled decisions.
