The Papua New Guinea Centre for Judicial Excellence (PNGCJE) successfully hosted and funded a three-day Generative AI for Beginners Bootcamp, enabling eleven staff members from the National Judicial Staff Services (NJSS) to complete the program at the Waigani Supreme and National Courts premises from June 23–25, 2026.
Participants were selected from various divisions within the NJSS which included;
- Accounts;
- Registry;
- PNGCJE;
- Judges Chambers;
- Human Resources; and
- Information Technology.
The bootcamp was designed to demystify AI concepts and architectures while equipping participants with practical skills to apply AI in professional contexts. By combining live instruction with demonstrations, the program ensured participants gained both awareness and confidence in using AI tools.
The three-day program blended theory with hands-on practice, showcasing practical applications through productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, ChatGpt and NotebookLM.
Day one saw participants focus on AI and Machine Learning which focused on the concepts, history and use cases. Day two was on generative AI which focused on architecture, models, and practical demonstrations whereas day three focused on AI productivity tools with hands on exploration of Copilot, NotebookLM, Gemini, Claude, ChatGpt and application scenarios.
The sessions were led by Krishna Ramlolarakh Dwivedi, Corporate Trainer specializing in AI and Cloud Technologies.
Ramlolarakh said “Generative AI was reshaping the way we work and think. Through this bootcamp, my goal is to simplify complex concepts and empower participants to confidently use AI tools in their professional lives.”
