Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia to be the distinguished guest speaker at the Sir Buri Kidu Lecture Series

The Papua New Guinea Centre for Judicial Excellence (Centre) is proud to announce the Sir Buri Kidu Lecture Series which will be hosted at the University of Papua New Guinea campus on 17 May 2023 commencing at 5:30 pm.

The Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, Honourable Susan Kiefel AC LLM (Cantab) will be the distinguished guest, to speak on the topic of “Prerogative Writs and Modern Judicial Review: Constancy and Change”.

The Honourable Susan Mary Kiefel is the first woman appointed to the position of the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia on January 30, 2017, having served as a Justice of the High Court since September 3, 2007.

The Sir Buri Kidu Lecture Series has been running for several years with a range of distinguished guest speakers taking the platform. The lectures focus on a range of topics which have relevance for the Judiciary, Academia, and the legal fraternity, and has the intention to provide support to lawyers and other professionals.

The target audience for this lecture will include Judges, Lawyers, Law students, other professionals and the general public.
